According to: 2017 Toyota Prius Prime plug-in hybrid review with range, price and power ...Toyota Prius Prime plug-in hybrid arriving in dealerships Nov. 3... Source is not listed (presumably Toyota) and this precise date does not seem to be listed elsewhere.
I've been in contact with my local dealer and apparently knew the price of the Prime before they did (thanks to you guys here at PriusChat). Anyway, I e-mailed them on Monday when we learned the pricing. Their computer system had not updated at that time so they couldn't tell me much. Got an e-mail first thing Tuesday morning saying the pricing had been updated in their system and he would get with their GM about ordering my Prime. So far all I have gotten out of them on when the Prime may go on sale is "November" but no actual date. The earlier the better I say. I'm excited to more than double my current MPG.
Was just called yesterday from my local San Diego dealer, they have so far one silver Prime to be shipping beginning of November.
This is just the first one they are aware of. I got another call from another San Diego dealer that he is aware of one coming to his dealership. It seems like the orders are slowly starting to build. Most of these salesmen still don't seem know very much. Thanks to this site I have been well informed on the car and it's features. This last salesman was very surprised I have already test driven the car.
Emailed with a Nashville dealership yesterday and the guy said no Primes have been allocated to them yet. He said it would be early to mid November.
Someone here said 30-Sept was first mfg date but I don't think we have that pinned down as a def. Whoever sees one look at the date on the door jam.
The second dealer to inform me that they have one ordered did mention to me that it would be manufactured on the 11th of this month. He wasn't sure when it would come after that date.
A dealer contacted me regarding Prime availability, stated the first boat will arrive in California on October 31st. He also mentioned a manufacturing date of October 7th 58 Prius Primes allocated to the Bay Area
Great to know, that number is very specific. I'm sure southern California can expect a similar number of cars.
with all the dealer training toyota has been doing on the prime, it's hard to understand why these sales weasels are so clueless.
My local Toyota dealership, Roseville Toyota, confirms the $500 manufacturer rebate on the Prime. One can also get 1.9% APR for up to 60 months if not going with the rebate. They note there is never a markup over MSRP at their dealership.
No details on mine yet. All I know is that my order is placed in the system. After so much waiting already, an expectation of within 2 months works for me. That will allow for plenty of time to play with the new heating system... here in Minnesota.
Did someone mention the secret word "Ship" ? Last couple of weeks Toyota has been moving the ships through port in just a couple of days. Unlike the weeks it took the previous six months with all the production interruptions. Only one ship headed for a non-North American port. The Vessel details for: SEPANG EXPRESS (Vehicles Carrier) - IMO 9448061, MMSI 370343000, Call Sign 3ECL8 Registered in Panama | AIS Marine Traffic headed for Hong Kong from Nagoya. The ships for west coast delivery around October 31 haven't even returned to Japan yet. Possible that the first Prime's went on the Pyxis if they wanted simultaneous nationwide availability the first week of November. Saw a New "5 passenger" Prius C in Grey at the bakery a couple of days ago and it looked really nice. Now I need to see it on the Prime. I have many friends who work as longshoremen in Long Beach and unload the cars for Toyota. I will tell them to keep an eye out for me for the Primes.
I feel like a kid at Xmas time again. Keep coming here to see if Santa (Toyota) has been here yet. I really hope to be driving a new 2017 Prime by Thanksgiving.
