Just got a 2014 White PiP with 25k miles. This is my first hybrid as well PiP. I'm enjoying it now... Question about Plug-in.. When charging, can I just unplug any time? Say if I only charge for 30mins, is there a process of unplugging or just yank the plug? I don't want to damage the system..
One little clarification, always have the charger plugged into the wall outlet before you connect or disconnect from the car.
When you depress the lever on the car plug to remove it, a switch inside signals the relay in the charging controller (the box near the source end of the cable) to open and remove power from the car plug. That's also the reason to remove the car plug first when interrupting a charge, since pulling the source plug will create an arc at the socket, causing damage that can accumulate.
