Spotted today in SoCal the Prius Fighter, Hyundai Ioniq. What do you think? Too boring or is boring what people want compared to Gen III / Gen IV?
It doesn't look too crazy, or to bland for that matter! What are the MPG / Pricing stats on it? Its just a regular hybrid correct? And not a plug-in?
Oh wow! The EV prior to the Hybrid! Surprising. What's the range, Pricing, etc... I guess I could google it but what's the point if posting will hopefully illicit an appropriate answer and help others thinking the same thing..
Most things are TBD. They're guessing 25mi+ on Plug-in. 110mi on EV. Not sure if there are pricing estimates. 2017 Hyundai Ioniq debuts in NY: 110-mile Electric range, 25-plus for Plug-In: Live photos
it will be mostly about the car features, reliability and pricing, and leastly about looks. it is interesting that they've copied toyota's fish gills.
Yup. Price is everything. It's the denominator of value. Prime pricing is amazing and room to improve with further incentives. Let's see where Ioniq marks up.
Looks fantastic! Looks a little bit better than the gen 3, and a boat load better than the gen 4! And this is coming from someone obsessed with Prii.
seat bottoms look substantial, don't like the shifter, too much real estate. i know someone will tell me it will help it sell more mainstream.
The one in this picture is a Hybrid, not and EV. So not so sure you are correct on the EV coming out first.
The Ioniq is the direct opposite of the Gen IV, there is no WOW or UGH as some people may feel. Its just there, which maybe a good thing when selling cars to the average person. I personally think the 6 year old design of the GEN III has better looks and still looks fresh. The Ioniq will not age as well........
Wikipedia page says the Hyundai hybrid doesn't have the 12V battery. So the hybrid battery powers everything i guess. I wonder if Toyota could have done this in the Prius? Hyundai Ioniq - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
