Are there a/c vents in the back seat for the Prime? If not, are there a/c vents in the back seat for the standard Prius? I have them in my Camry hybrid.
There are heater vents under the front seats pointing at the back in the standard Prius (don't know about the Prime). I don't think there are AC vents back there.
That I didn't check. Not sure how the heat pump configuration has changed that. I'll send an email to Toyota to ask.
What about the new gas injected heat pump ? How does it work ? According to Swiss toyota site it has nothing to do with gasoline, but if gas is used won't that have to be refilled once in a while ? Can the Prime only be pre-heated or pre-cooled while recharging or ist it also possible to do that when its just standing outside on a parking lot ? If so that would be absolutely awesome! No more scratching ,having to deal with fogged up windows or having to get into a"boiling" hot car on a hot summer's day !
Really? That's really fantastic ! Toyota was confronted for not really offering new stuff or real innovation when gen.4 Prius was revealed, but with the Prime the outdone themselves ! A real solar roof which is capable of charging the the big and small battery,LED Matrix Headlights, pre heating and cooling and other things. If they had only followed the path they took with the regular Prius instead of taking a step backwards again placing the battery in the trunk...
Heat pumps, air conditioners, and freezers work by taking advantage of the temperature change that happens when a pressurized liquid quickly converts to a gas. Gas injected heat pumps are a next generation design in which some of this gas from this phase change is sprayed on the compressor blades. This improves the efficiency of the system, and allows the heat pump to work down to lower ambient temperatures.
How the heatpump works. Advanced Heat Pump Comes of Age in the New Prius Prime. Would this be a good option for Model 3 or the Bolt EV??
