You realize that's an oil pressure light, not an oil level light?

Every time that light comes on, the engine oil level is so dangerously low that it's sucking air through the sump pickup -- which means the engine's not getting proper lubrication -- likely causing damage. At 300K+ miles, I guess you can't really argue with your results, but that's a really bad practice to be in.

    Congrats on reaching 300K though.

No mine would rattle through the column from the bottom of the steering shaft. It would rattle over bumps in parking lots and lowers speeds mainly.
I googled it and talked to several Toyota dealerships. The issue is for real. I am at real mileage 375,000 and still stuck at 299,999 miles on odometer. See attached picture from 8/30/2016.

I check my oil weekly (Saturdays) and add about 1 quart a month.

I have now switched from MOBIL 1 to VALVOLINE MAX-LIFE SYNTHETIC BLEND (Simply cost reasons.)

If by oil analysis you mean checking the dip stick yes. Seriously thought I add a quart every month so, every 4-5 months I have added a complete oil change worth of oil. Plus I am using synthetic which hold up much longer as you know.

Just like to remind people to not take this thread off topic, not looking at anyone in particular.

It would be good if posts could get back to being in the format as usbseawolf2000 outlined in the opening post.

If you want to discuss some problem you are having, please start a new thread.

    Thanks (y)

I have approximately 408,000 on my Gen 2 2007. All on its original traction batteries. It is hard to get a fully accurate mileage because my combination meter failed about 30,000+ miles ago (free replacement from Toyota, thanks Toyota!).

    Have you tried this:
Key FOB in your hand, drivers side door open, check headlights turned off.
Close door, press break pedal, turn headlights on, press Lock twice on FOB.
Headlight icon will illuminate on dash. Press Start button. All GOOD?
Don't ask how I figured it out, just enjoy. I consider it an advanced security feature.

no way it's the original traction pack though, right? With that many miles, maybe the 3rd or 4th rebuild?

Just turned 350,000 miles this week, does Toyota even care?
I thought I'd answer the questions posted on the front end of this link!

    1) Did you replace the HV battery pack? Still the original battery
    2) Did you replace the hybrid transaxle fluid? Changed the Transaxle fuild twice now, ready to do it again!
    3) Did you replace the brake pads? two sets of front pads ( didn't need to, but the wheels were off) one set of shoes in the rear at 270,000
    4) Your lifetime MPG (if available)? I use a running average, 49.4 mpg
    5) How often do you change your oil? What brand / product did you use? Change it religiously every 4K, Walmart generic full synthetic 5W30
    6) How about post a picture of 300,000 miles on ODO? I'll post later!
    7) Are you the original owner? bought it new!
    8) How many miles under your ownership? all 350,000 miles!
    9) Feel free to add anything else you wish to share.

HATS OFF to the engineers and designers of this modern day icon! Laugh if you must, but this car truly is a milestone design, not only for the functionality, but for its ability to consistently squeeze every gallon for all its worth!
    Hats off Toyota!

Now, can I have a discount on original Toyota parts to keep me going to the 500K milestone?

Is anyone running stats on this stuff?
There's gotta be some gold in this data.

    :)

    Especially #'s 2 & 5. Maybe #4.

376,000 on my 2007 Touring edition. Replaced the batteries at 340,000 (Got a second hand one for $850). Takes a quart of oil every 1000-1200 miles. One set of brakes at around 250K. Muffler at 350K. Catalytic Converter at 335K. No other repairs!!!! Sometimes one of the halogen headlights doesn't go on. I turn the headlights on and off, and they both come on. No problem. Fluids, tires, and wipers were only other expenses. Incredible machine.

Yes. Same CVT. No other repairs beyond than what I mentioned. Just incredibly reliable. And I zip around the northeast - Boston to Buffalo in this car. It sometimes turns WHITE from the salt that coats everything on the road in the winter, and the body still looks great. I have saved a small FORTUNE on gas - but mostly REPAIRS - compared to any other vehicle I have owned and put high mileage on. I honestly think I will park the car one day, walk away and hear a sighing sound behind me. I will turn around and it will be gone, having given me all it has. It's silly, but I think the car is astonishing. By the way, I'm 6'3.5" tall and weigh 265 and I'm perfectly comfortable, so I appreciate anything that can haul my big butt around that reliably!
