HI all, I am ready to trade in my Prius for a new or slightly used one. I want a Prius 3. I have been backing and forthing it with a number of dealerships. I expect to get the money for my downpayment this week and then i will seriously move forward. Now I'm just using tools like TRUECAR On TRUECAR, one dealership actually offered me a new Prius THREE at $21, 560. A couple of dealerships who have contacted me said that was a very low quote that they couldn't match. One suggested the dealership was lying and was attempting to pawn off a 2 as a 3. If you bought a new Prius, how much did you buy it for? What was the trim? What time of year was it? And what state are you in? I'd appreciate any input and feedback. I'm doing research now and haven't bought a car in a very long time. I don't exactly trust dealerships. Everything I've read suggests that it's best to buy after late summer because that's when the new models come in and dealerships want to unload the new ones. Anyone know if this is true? Am I going to save THAT much if I wait six months?
23,900, 2011,gen4, all the bells and whisles,leather seats,heated seats,jbl sound,bluetooth,rv camera,moonroof,plus extended warranty.. 25.000 out the door..southern California..pictured above
I recommend getting a slightly used one... I bought a 2012 Prius Two, with 29,000 miles (Certified Toyota Pre-Owned) for $16,000 last month. Not only is it still under the Toyota factory 3/36k warranty until April, but it comes with all of the certified warranties, and a 1 year extension on the traction battery. Oh, and the dealer put new tires on it!
I"m not interested in starting a debate on new vs. used. I don't want a car with 30k miles. I have my reasoning. I'm just trying to get a sense of what people have paid for their NEW prius. I'd appreciate it if we could stick to that.
Full retail when the 20120Pip was released; base model minus $500.00 dealer incentive. I got New York's first shipment #5 out of seven. Almost $36k OUT OF THE DOOR
I was simply supporting your opening statement of trading in your Prius for a new, OR slightly used one. I gave my opinion (nobody is debating anything....yet) that I recommend going slightly used. All the best.
Apparently, I wasn't clear. I was originally looking for a slightly used one. Then I started using TRUECAR and saw what NEW Priuses were going for which is why I'm interested in what people are paying for new ones.
If you can get a new Prius THREE at $21, 560 jump on it. That's the lowest price in California. Due to the low gas prices they can't sell any Prius at close to retail. The price of gas has gone up $1 a gallon which will make the dealers think they can raise the car price. I don't think you will see a cheaper price this year.
Turns out that quote conveniently left out Fuel and advertising fees--- it was the only quote I got that did that. I ended up getting one for 22,800 and change plus tax/fees--- out the door will be around 25k
It's a new 2015 PRIUS THREE. I got a $1000 rebate and am going with partial financing at 0% interest. I also managed to get the dealer to come down based on a competitor's TRUECAR quote. He also factored in a AAA discount. I'm really psyched.
Earlier this month, my wife and I just bought a brand new 2015 Toyota Prius Four here in Sacramento, CA for $27,500 out the door. We also got 0% APR for 60 months.
$19,100 2016 Prius base out the door. Same trim as Prius two. It was impossible to get any additional discount at all from the dealer. Nexus 10 ?
