Excellent question, I wanted to ask the same thing. The other ? I have Is can a passenger operate it while the car is in motion, or are certain menus locked out for "safety"?

Prior to getting my windows tinted, I only noticed brief times when there was a slight reflection. It wasn't enough to be concerned about. And it only happened when the screen was completely off.

And for the other poster, yes, certain screen functions are locked-out when the car is moving. But you can use voice activation for the Nav.

I should mention that the screen is a bit smaller in my non-Prime model. The black seems to absorb the light, rather than reflect it. At least in my car.

It's possible The older screens had a non-glossy finish. The Gen 4 Prius and the Prius Prime will have a glossy finish. I just hope the brightness is such that it can break through the glare (in addition to the screen minimizing the glare in the first place). One positive thing about the Prime is that there is no moonroof option so at least the glare is limited to the side windows. On my Gen 3, I found it readable in most situations but there have been times where I cannot see the screen at all. If it's through the moonroof, I just close the shade but if it's through the side windows, I have to cup my hand to block the screen to view it. The Gen 2 isn't too bad since it's mounted higher so the sun angle has to be lower to hit it.

Unrelated to the reflection, that is such a waste of screen space to have an image of the Prius just occupying the top part of the screen on all functions...

This big glossy screen was one of my first questions several months ago. My 2010 has a matte screen and has a slight glare problem. Hopefully the 11.2 won't be as bad as I think it might be. I'm also not happy with that 1.5 inch horizontal chrome-plated thing that is in the middle of the Prime dashboard that runs the full length..

You can tape the chrome-thing but can't do anything about the screen.

The gen 2 and 3 have those matte screens. There's really no glare on the screens, but they get washed out. When the sun hits them, you can't see anything. The gen 4 will blind you with the glossy screen. Luckily, I have no problems because my Prii are tinted :)

I think my concern comes when considering how the screen is at night time...that's a pretty large back-lit screen staring at you while driving down a dark road. Wonder if anyone has had a chance to look at this outside of Toyota.

I'll be surprised if there isn't a dimmer on it for nighttime. Automatic as well as manual. There has always been a way to turn the screen off too.

All the videos I've seen have the 11 inch screen with a matte finish.
