Hey there, Are there any issue with 2016? I am shopping for my wife's next car. Its between 2016 vs 2017. Right now, there is a $2000 cash back on the 2016. We plan to keep the car for at least 6 years. Also, if I negotiate on the 2016, do I bring up the $2000 at the end of the negotiate? I have bought a few new cars but only once had a rebate ($750 on the tacoma) which the salesguy brought it up the first minute over the phone. Btw, what is the main difference between the Four and Four Touring?
no issues. toyo added tsp to the 2017, and raised the price. you don't have to mention the 2k, they already know about it. tell them how much you're willing to pay, bottom line, before ttl. start low, so you can counter their counter. main diff is probably the 17" wheels and maybe suspension. along with lower mpg's. all the best!
Nearing the end of the month, so good time to get a good deal! You just need to decide what model and options are important to you, and start from there. Cloth vs soft touch leather, 15" vs 17" rims? Go online at Toyota main site, and you can download a Prius catalog and compare the models from 2 up to 4 touring. stt
There are no differences in the model line up or the cars for 2016 and 2017. It's all in what is now standard on the 2017. On the four, you can get the sun roof and head up display in the option package. But the basic difference between four and four touring is wheels.
I just bought 2016 Four with ATP and this forum was really helpful in making the decision. I was having same question 2016 or 2017. User with screen name "Tideland Prius" was very helpful. Here what I would suggest Go to New Cars, Trucks, SUVs & Hybrids | Toyota Official Site and download 2016 Prius brochure and that lists all the trims and a table that has all the features for each trim. Check the features that you want and see if Four or Four Touring has it. Only thing you don't get on Four is fog lights. 15" wheels is standard on Four but I think you can get 17" as upgrade. I would say go for 2016 if you are looking to save some $$$. There is no new features in 2017. Hope that helps
One recommendation; read the chapter of customization and give the salesman a list of the ones you want changed. Sales will have them done to make the sale. Once the car is yours, several service departments have charged. http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/om-s/OM47B39U/pdf/OM47B39U.pdf (page 752) As an example, I park in a garage at night so I prefer 0 second delay for my headlights. If I parked on the street I might want as much as 90 seconds of illumination so I could get to my door.
The 15" rims (Four) have alloy wheels with aerodynamic wheel covers. The 17" rims on the Four Touring does not have the wheel covers but they do have plastic inserts. (The silver part. The black part is the alloy wheel)
Is the ATP and the premium package a must have? Wife just wants leather, navigation, backup camera, and BSM (blind spot monitor). We have been offered a blizzard pearl 2016 Prius 4 touring without options for $28979 OTD (Calif has 9% sales tax). Good deal?
- ATP only has moonroof and headsup display over Touring. Headsup display is a gimmick really!!! - Most people bought ATP for the "full range DRCC" which Touring model already has Touring 4 blizzard pearls's MSRP is about 31,500. - Registration: $300, doc fee: $80, rebate: $2000 ==> price of car is: 28,100 + 2,500 tax Taking in the Your discount is about $5400 off MSRP which is ok and can be pushed a little.. I just bought 2 days ago: MSRP 29,869. Car price: 23,700 which is about $6100 off MSRP. Mine was a Three with ATP and some miscellaneous addon. However, the price I had was where most dealers were $300 to $1000 higher. Only 1 said yes
Thanks for the details. For the base 4 Touring without the JBL Entune, is the screen 6.1" I checked this: Visual Tables of Gen4 Package Combinations | PriusChat Btw, what dealership neophunk1? I got the quote from Carson
I bought my 4 with ATP and premium package for 30,500 and dealer included tint. Tax and fees extra of course iPhone ?
Wife now changed her mind and said Prius 3 Touring is fine to save a few more bucks. This package still have NAV, backup camera, and leather seats right?
Yes on all. It is Softex / fake leather. My wife hated the smell of softex so much she insisted on non-touring
I love my ATP - I purchased it just for the safety features; sun roof and others were just icing on the cake. As a vegetarian who tries to use less animal byproducts I also love the softex.
That's one of my favorite things on my car! I love it. I notice constantly while I'm driving. I don't have to look in the middle of the dash. Yes. Not passenger side, just driver side is powered. I gotta say the seats are rock hard, but they fit me well. I recommend a Four with ATP and PCP
I agree with Lectro 100%, except I find the seats not to be so much rock hard as they are firm, and well-suited for all-day drives. I do wish they had offered a passenger-side power seat as an option, along with fog lights and a spare tire for the same non-Touring package. Even so, it's Prius 4 with ATP and PCP FTW!
