Some quick photoshops. Does anyone think these styling ideas would improve the appearance of the Prius?
You're covering up the "Prius smile" !!! The badge is the nose and the grill is a silly grin, no? I don't think the grin fits the other angular lines going on. So... on some level I like what you've done. But the grin would still show in real life. I wouldn't mind seeing one painted like this.
nope. but i see you have talent. maybe if you add a third pic of the stock look for side by side comparison.
It's classic Toyota. There's another classic Toyota element that I don't like and it's a bit hard to describe... but I call it the bow and stern angle. I think Toyotas look more like boats than other manufacturers. Not boats, but like boats where the angles come up and spread out. I don't know how the Prius makes this happen because the front and back still come down fairly vertical. But looking at the profile, I'd swear they have a boat bow and stern.
I like how the hubcabs on my Prius Two match the shape of the "tails" on the headlight and taillight assemblies. No change needed to the front end. Maybe some eyelashes would be ok.
Personally, I'd leave it the way it is. I tend to change cars every 3-5 years, and the expectation is that the car will be original, with modifications tending to devalue trade-in value. Improvements like tinting windows, mats, mudflaps etc will improve value, but generally not modifications. But - if you keep a car as a long-term item, where depreciation isn't an issue, then changes can individualise it to your likes.
You most certainly show great imagination. Not sure I can see it myself, but think I know where you're coming from.
If you wanted to do something like your photoshop, you could do it with a removable wrap - but it could make a statement till you wanted to try something else - maybe a different colour, titanium, carbon fibre look? You could even go matte or chrome? It doesn't last forever, and that depends on where you are - more sun means it fades quicker, particularly on the horizontal surfaces. The only concern I'd have is, while they say it is removeable, it does use heat to remove it, and seeing some of that area you photoshopped isn't metallic, I'm not sure if it would be damaged. You could always do the whole car in Chrome - that would make a statement - I saw this on one of our local car wrap firm's website.
