If these fog lights are anything like the ones on the Gen 3 Prius, you're not missing much. They didn't work very well in my opinion.

 

The ones on my G2 are so ineffective that I can't tell if they are on or off.

 

oh, what a tease. prime plus = $27,500.

 

The fog lights on US spec models generally aren't real fog lights but 'driving lights'.

 

I wish like hell this PHEV's rear end was the design for the new 2016 when it debuted. I like this rear end way better.
Of course, I also would prefer Sofia Vergara's rear end on ME, but that didn't happen either

Sorry if this has been discussed or answered elsewhere. I have looked through the prius prime section and didn't see anything on the available cables.

So the "Charge cable for 120V outlet" is this the only cable that comes standard? Is there a separate cord that will need to be purchased as well to use a 240v outlet?

yes. you will need a dedicated correct amperage circuit breaker, new correct gauge wiring, and a level 2 evse. you can find all the info in gen 1 plug in threads, except prime accepts higher amperage, so larger breaker and wire.

 

Except for Tesla, you will need an EVSE to charge at a rate faster that possible from a 120V outlet. They can be hard wired, or a plug for the various higher voltage and amperage outlets.

 

So are you saying you cannot charge a Prime with a standard 110 plug in?

 

No, Prime will charge at that 110-120v rate as a minimum and come standard with EVSE (the cord/plug) to do that alone.

If you want to charge faster, you will have to buy a level-2 charging station for home or use one of those on the road.

No. Really, one is not doing that either when using a U.S. standard 110-120v outlet. It's not like you can take an extension cord and plug in your car directly into a 110-120v or any 240v outlet. One must use the Level-1 120v EVSE cord/plug that comes with the car or if you want to charge faster, use a Level-2 EVSE that does not come with the car. Here are some details of how it works:

there is a company that will convert the standard evse cord to 240v, so you can plug directly in. and you can still use it for 12v as well. a former member here, and electronic genius, he adds about $3. worth of parts to the electronics, and charges a couple hundred bucks. many people have done it on the pip, with great success.
