What the heck is this noise? Coolant pump? (video)

    Hey folks. What the heck is this noise? Coolant pump?

    I talked to Toyota, and it sounded like they would help me fix it. But, I have to take it to the dealer. I took it to a place (not the dealer) call ToyTechs. I trust them, and they said it was the inverter pump.

    Dealer said it was some other pump.

    You have to turn it up a bit. It's sort of a woot, woot, woot, etc. sound.

    What say you, my friends?

    Was an answer for this ever discovered? My 2008 with 260k has the exact same noise as Ericisbacchus.

    This is the sound of a bad 3 way coolant valve. If you scan your car for codes, you should get p1121

    I checked the coolant level and it was low. I added about a quart. I'll see if the noise goes away. Thanks for the help!

    Added coolant to thee engine or inverter loop?
    Was the engine loop recently serviced? Drain/fill or a part replaced? You may still have air that needs to get purged out. Many posts on getting air pockets removed. Do a search w/in PC or an Internet search.
