2007 Prius Fuse/relay location

    I have a 2007 Prius. The AC stopped blowing. The first thing I did was to check the AC fan, it was fine. The second thing I did was check the Control blower Motor and it was also fine. I'm trying to locate the relay and or fuses associated with this circuit. This is the under hood fuse panel and a separate relay center also under the hood.......Thxs

    is there one near the drivers left foot? strange that the o/m doesn't list all the fuses and locations.

    There is another one under the dash on the left drivers side. I'm thinking the relay would be in the main panel under the hood as show in the pic above. Do you see the relay associated with the AC fan located under the dash/glove compartment passenger side ???? This is the one under the drivers side dash.

    1. The cabin blower fan receives 12V power via the 40A HTR fusible link and the HTR relay.
    2. Your 0500 photo which shows the map of the main relay/fuse box next to the inverter shows the location of the 40A HTR fusible link. The entire fusible link assembly must be replaced if a link is blown.
    3. What is your procedure to check the AC fan and the blower motor control?

    We tested the fan with a 12 volt battery. I picked up a low cost Blower motor control and tested the AC blower with everything hooked back up. When you say the "entire fusible link assembly" needs to be replaced what would that mean. I know the Blower control draws a lot of amps. I'm thinking it maybe stuck in a open position ???? or if it was stuck in a closed position what fuse would I look at ???????

    1. The fusible link assembly is the ~5" long plastic box with a white base and clear top.
    2. Look at that to see if there are any broken links.
    3. If that turns out to be the problem the entire assembly must be replaced. That is not so easy to do.

    OK, I check the clear box and it looked fine. I didn't see any broken links. I thought the 40A HTR Relay would be just like all other relays. What would be the fuses in this circuit that would be past the relay and between the 40A HTR and the blower motor ???? why do they use a fusible link instead of ind relays ?????

    When I first stared having a problem with the fan nothing would happen. Then when I drove it for awhile all of a sudden it would start working. That went on for a month or so and then nothing.

    There are no other fuses.

    So you bought a used Prius blower motor control, installed it and there was no change? If not, the AC amplifier may have failed.

    Right, after testing the fan and getting a used BMC it still didn't work. If the relay was a normal relay I would have thought it may be loose . Because of the way it came on after awhile before it completely failed to work. What is the AC 10A HTR fuse under the drivers side fuse box. What would that before ????

    That fuse provides 12V power for the AC amplifier, and the coolant pump which circulates engine coolant when the engine is not running.

    Were you able to test the HTR relay? If not, remove the relay from the socket and use an ohmmeter to determine the relay coil terminals. Apply 12VDC across those terminals, then measure resistance across the switched terminals using a digital multimeter. After accounting for meter lead resistance, if the resistance is greater than 0.5 ohm then replace the relay.

    If you find the relay is good and the fuses are good then I suggest replacing the AC amplifier, as stated previously.

    I had my AC cut out on me today and it was because my inverter pump failed.

    Patrick, first of all thanks for taking the time with all my questions. I'm not sure what to do with the "fusible link" I can't see the 40A HTR relay as to unplug it to test it. It's not like all the other relays that can just pull out of a socket. Am I missing something ??????.........Does the fusible link flip open ?????? to get to the relays ???????

    The HTR relay is located on the relay/fuse box on the underside of the instrument panel, driver's side.

    I assume that you meant the air was no longer cold. OP's concern is that the cabin fan is not working, which is a separate issue.

    This fuse box is also located under the drives side panel. Your saying there is another fuse/relay box under there ?????

    OK< GGEEZZZZZZZ I just saw the relays located next to that front drivers side fuse box. I'll check the 40A HTR Relay.........THXS

    To be precise, you want to check the HTR relay. There is no "40A" as part of that name.

    40 amperes relates to the rating of the fusible link. You've already said the fusible link is intact. So the next step is to verify the HTR relay (which has no current rating in the name) is operational.

    I had my A/C go out on my '05 this year. The blower motor was fried. The blower would turn on when I hit a bump in the road, but would stay off all the time. I got a used blower motor and put it in. $300 Everything works fine now. It just sounded like the same problem you were having. It didn't have anything to do with the fuse.
