I got my Gold package through the Dealership. They contract with a local vendor. I think all she did was paint the silver emblems gold. It took about an hour. She even did the Hybrid Synergy Drive emblem. Looks sharp against the black PRI.
What about changing from gold back to the factory 'silver' emblems. Any guess on what it would cost to replace gold badging with the original silver badging on a used 2004 Prius? Maybe it's just me, but gold badging on a white Prius just doesn't look right.
You can get your emblems gold plated. I was going to 2nd Gen Prius but there was too many emblems. The local shop here had to test the emblems to make sure there was metal in them. They were going to charge $75.00 an emblem. I do know that on the 3rd generation I have seen on eBay they come directly from Japan gold (6 emblems) for around $380.00
