I have a 2014 Prius Three, not III because only 2010 used uppercase roman numerals for model designation. I'm considering installing fog lights and am wondering if the factory fog lights perform well. Do they have a separate switch to operate, and do they operate independently of the headlights?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

The oem style foglights are terrible. Get these, sold by a priuschat member in the marketplace:

You are still going to have to buy one of the inexpensive oem style kits off of ebay to get the wiring harness, and switch.

It depends on what you use to trigger the relay in the foglight wiring harness. You can certainly wire them so that you can use the foglights independently from the headlights if you wish.

I have the factory fog lights, basically switch them on/off a few times, every so often, just to satisfy myself SOMETHING's happening. Yeah, not very effective.

Good morning, I recently bought a 2014 Prius Three. This is the first vehicle that, it appears, I can EITHER use the headlights OR the fog-lights...I expected the fog-lights to automatically turn OFF if I activated the High beams, but stay on with the Low beams. Can somebody tell me if I can utilized the fog-lights AND the Low beam Headlights at the same time?

I have a pdf of the 2014 Owner's Manual, think it's the US/Canadian version. On page 259 it says:

    Maybe someone modified the wiring?
