I am considering revoking my membership here, how do I do that? I don't seem to get any respect here, and when I do post, not many respond. I was very happy when I first joined this site, I learned a lot about the Prius, and thank those that did offer possitive feedback.

Tumbleweed- sorry to hear of your loss, I know cyberspace doesn't mean anything, but that is very bold of you to go on your lil adventure- very nice! Most people live their lives never going out exploring, I love to do it, it is very educational, and healing. Best wishes :)

I know the feeling. I have often pondered taking the same course of action. Should I, shouldn't I. Is it worth it, when all is said and done (assuming all has been said and done which I very much doubt) To post or not to post - that is the question. Is it all meaningless? Are we not, after all, just specks living on a lump of dirt hurtling through space in one or another dimension, lost amongst billions of other stars, other galaxies? Was Sam right, after all?

It is a very informational site, but it gets old having so much negativity directed just from posting an innocent question or concern- If I want to be talked down to I will just ask a Toyota Service rep

well in the grand scheme of things everything we do on a daily basis is meaningless. computers are meaningless, the internet is meaningless, the chair you are sitting on is meaningless, the keyboard you type on is meaningless. but in the real context of life, every day has some kind of meaning, whether you realize it or not. there i go rambling again.

i think we all have times where we don't feel respected. it happens. on the internet it's especially hard because people run around here without identity, and feel they can be complete #$)holes to each other and it's okay. it's a shame, but it's also in human nature in some sick and twisted way.

i'm here today because i don't feel like being productive. i'll be here tomorrow because someone will have yet another question about the recall. i'll stay because i've met some good people here, and at least the conversation is interesting.

Hmm we feel the same way for most postings in FHOP, but I'm sure its partly our faults for picking the topics. :p

Welcome to PC kosmikchic and pete bogumill. This site worked good for me when I first got my Prius, not so long ago, because people would give me good answers no matter how dumb my questions were. Come to think of it my questions aren't much better now.

    Oh . . . 'you!'

I have actually been gone a long time, so I found it especailly amusing. I had to cut back on computer time and this place had to be sacrificed to the gods of getting stuff done in my real life. I've been job hunting, nursing my MiL through cancer (she's in remission now!), and trying to still find joy in life . . . the Prius helps.

On the upside I have a shiny new avatar with a picture of my adorable little rat Ruby sitting on the Prius.

To be honest the main reason I checked back in was to find out the skinny on the recall. When I stopped at a gas station to fill up, some guy in a truck just had to tell me about it. You could tell he was a little miffed at paying $3.39 a gallon to fill up his old guzzler, and wanted to see regret on the face of a hybrid owner. I'm glad to say I deprived him of his joy, told him I wasn't worried, I had the best warranty out there, and getting 47 MPG it well worth it. He tried to smile.

Hope all you folks are doing great. I've been seeing more and more Prii in San Francisco and it makes me smile. Seems you can't go more than a few blocks without seeing one now. I counted today, just on the drive home from the gas station, which took about 20 min . . . I saw 16 Prii.

I agree completely- It seems whenever there is something on the news about our beloved Prius, the Prius "haters" aka non-owners, seem to get the biggest kick out of telling me about the lastest issue! I tell them something similar to what you said, I am not worried, it is new technology, and Toyota will take care of it. Usually they are driving a vehicle that has had probably at least 10 recalls, and sadly has mostly technology that has been out for decades haha. I love my car, love my mileage, and their jealousy is enough enjoyment! ;)

Rattie! It's the former Jack 06! Wondered where you'd gone. Sorry about your MIL.

Ruby the Rat, huh? Do you have a little leash for her?

Turns out we just kinda held the fort while The V8 Cobra Kid was gone, and now he's back. I think he's more in the South Bay, though.

    Take care!

    Mystery Squid,

I am happy to say that I am no longer a fellow squid. I separated this past June and am certainly enjoying my new life as one of the civilian folk.

We live in Raleigh now. Other than that, not much is going on.

Hey Jack! I actually looked you up when I came back, but saw that you hadn't posted since the ugliness. I was affraid you were scared away! I'm glad you're still around. Yeah, we definitely held down the fort. My MiL is in full remission now. It was a long hard road, but "remission" is the most beautiful word in the language to me at the moment.

As for Ruby . . . she would never allow herself to be subjected to the humilliation of a leash. Besides she is so well behaved she doesn't need one.

I am here. Just trying to get a little work done between posts. Gotta keep the boss under the illusion that I work for a living. Looking forward to getting the car. It was supposed to be in port in NY on Sunday. I'm thinking 1-2 weeks away still. Guess I'll be official when the deal is done. This is the coolest site. I'll be hanging out here quite a bit.

    BluePriusPA here,
I am just enjoying my 7 gallon a week car. Nothing new to report, over 21,000 miles and she hasn't sneezed yet. :D My fear is running someone over in a parking lot, pedestrians don't hear it coming in stealth mode. I love this car, best vehicle I have owned as far as reliability and mpg. I have owned an SUV to a sports car and my Prius is the best. My opinion, only drawback, is the cloth interior is not the easiest to keep clean.
