Hi this is my first post. I want to buy a toyota prius I live in santa cruz and will be driving mostly to the palo alto region. I am wondering should I wait for 2007 or go ahead and order the 2006 prius. I found this video of 2007 prius: http://reviews.cnet.com/2007_Toyota_Prius/..._7-6459267.html tx
I saw the video without sound so I'm missing any explanations, but anyway in favor of a 2006 1) $3100 tax credit 2) I don't believe the auto-park feature will be available in the US.
If it was me, I wouldn't wait. I bought a 2005 in Sept last year and have never thought twice about it. While the 2007 will have a few extras the 2006 has, it's not a major model change.
Go for the '06 if you want the tax credit (and can use it). Wait for the '08 if you want a new platform. The '07 is a minor model change (as the '06 was from the '05 and '04).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(topgun @ Jun 2 2006, 01:58 PM) </div> try for the '07, partially due to the improved resolution and features of the nav system. i've got an '04 with the high-end option and i'd love to strangle the morons who designed the user interface for the '04's nav. (ask me how i really feel... )
Go for an '06, get the credit (especially since the AMT tax is on hold). From the video, I saw two new features. The traffic condition reporting and the auto-park feature. The high resolution screen is already standard on '06 models with the reverse camera and navigation system. Otherwise wait for the '08. MHO, Brian
