Hi! I just got a 2013 Prius yesterday! Since it's my first newish (<10 years old at time of purchase) vehicle, I'd actually like to keep it looking nice. My former car (2003 Civic) was completely covered in dog hair that vacuums would not get out of the cloth seats no matter how hard I tried. I'd like to get a hammock-type seat cover for the back seat, but I know there's a vent for the hybrid battery that has to be kept clear. How do you folks with dogs that shed heavily keep your seats clean without blocking the vent? Any recommendations on a particular type of cover? Thanks in advance, this community seems great and I'm so happy to be a part of it!

congrats and welcome! more importantly, the fur can clog the cooling fan and cause premature failure of the hybrid battery. it would be worth your while to invest in a pre filter, and also to learn how to clean the fan, and check it regularly. all the best!(y)

You can try the cheapest fix - take an old pair of pantyhose, and tape or wire some of the fabric around the fan intake.

I have a hammock and just tuck it in the side of the cushion by the vent inlet register. It keeps the vent from being blocked quite effectively.
