I was hoping someone can answer this question for me I've realized in the past week or two that when I am slight Road and Perfections manhole covers and potholes my rear end feels like it's swsys a little my front end feels like it is just fine it's after the front hits the bumps the back end feels like it lets loose can someone tell me what the problem might be I have 70,000 miles on the car thank you Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I should also add if you let go of the steering wheel it goes perfectly straight no pulling left or right Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
If your car has 80+ thousand miles, time for all new shocks whether they leak or not. OEM shocks just don't last much beyond 50+ thousand miles, no matter what the car, except that they deteriorate so slowly that it's imperceptible until they get really old and bad. It's not that much $$$ for new shocks , and not hard to do it yourself if you or your friends are tool-handy. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I changed my rears with these 04 09 Toyota Prius Rear Quick Complete Struts Coil Springs w Mounts Pair X2 | eBay at 110,000 miles. Returned the handling and height to normal. Easy and inexpensive. Don't know how long they will last but after 8,000 still perfect.
maybe you have a broken suspension part or worn bushings. if you can't diy, i would take it to a reputable suspension shop or toyota dealer and have them look around. maybe an anti sway bar would help, idk.
