My daughter wrecked her Prius we had 4 pri lol 2-2004 1-2006 1-2009, insurance company said I can have the car for 15 percent of the value of the car. Question is should I buy it off them? And what parts do I want to take from the car?

Probably not. If the insurance company can't get some of its money back through subrogation, there probably aren't parts left that have that much value. I'm guessing that the HV battery isn't relatively new and the damage is extensive.

If I had the room (and from the looks of your avatar, you have plenty), I would keep the car for $500. You have 3 other ones that will need parts. Just taking 2 parts from the car will pay for itself.....imagine all the parts you have their at your disposal for only $500.

    1. rims and tires
    2. transaxle
    3. engine
    4. ECUs
    5. HV Battery
    6. Interior parts
    7. headlights or taillights
    8. combination meter
    9. MFD screen

The list goes on and on. You can even sell off what you don't need and easily get back $500. I would buy it just for the HV battery alone

    I've got some magic beans.

The OP could get $500 for the battery alone, all else is gravy. Need pics to see if it worth rebuilding.

Don't forget the inverter. Its the most expensive part of the car if it isn't damaged.

There's very little demand for the inverter.....cost about $100 on Ebay. But still it's $100 if you can find a poor soul that needs it.

Looks to be a 2004 but most parts are still intact. If you have the room, negotiate the purchase of the car if you really want it.

If room isn't an issue, how about buy it and resell as is for $12-1,500 to make back the deductible, the tow to your property, and a little extra for all your troubles?

    This is an absolute no-brainer.
I see 4 G2s (reduced to 3 operable units) in one family.
Buying the totaled car makes all kinds of sense even if you only need a few of its parts.

    True Market Value®
    *Trade-in $2,009
    *Private Party Sale $2,948
    *Dealer Retail $4,513

I'll betcha somebody tosses you a thou just for a restoration project.
Your call, but I'd do it in a second...unless you just don't want to deal with it.
After all, we're talking about hundreds up to maybe a thou or two.
It's not going to change your life either way, but even if your daughter is an only child, you may be doing this again!!!

    Just think of it....
if the other G2 gets whacked in the rear, then you'll have enough parts to build a working car. ;)

    Good Luck!!
    Glad the kid's OK.

That looks drivable. Get a different hood, hood pins, and some duck tape.
