Competition in the PHEV and EV market is good, so I hope the "new" Karma Revero is launched as scheduled later this year. Since the Revero is, essentially, the same vehicle as the Fisker Karma (produced in 2011 and 2012) I expect the new Revero to have similar performance statistics: an all electric range of 32 miles (total range (gas and electric) of 230 miles), then 20 mpg when the gas engine is running the generator to supply electricity rather than the traction battery (EPA), 0-60 mph elapsed time of 6.3 seconds, top speed of 125 mph, 4 seats, and a starting price of >$100,000 (US). Those numbers don't compare all that favorably to a Tesla Model S 90D: all electric range of 294 miles (EPA), 0-60 mph elapsed time of 4.2 seconds, top speed of 155 mph, 5 to 7 seats, and starting price of $89,500 (US). I can't speak for all potential Model S/X buyers, but I am interested in the model S and I would not be tempted to purchase the new Revero, if it performs about as well as the original Karma did. I suspect the Revero will appeal to some folks, but I don't think it will pull a substantial number of sales away from the Model S/X. They appear to me to be very different cars.
Whoops !! 294 range EPA? Nope. the Model S 90d has been bumped up; Official EPA Ratings For Refreshed Tesla Model S - 90D Range Is 303.2 Miles Highway But even THAT's old news - upon the release of the latest & greates Model S - the P100d - the range is extended even further into the 300+ mile range; .... because the old Tesla 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds was just not ludicrously sick enough .
