Hi Everyone! I got my new Prius a couple of months ago and absolutely love it! However, the other week I noticed I got a scratch indentation on the plastic B pillar on the driver door. I know scratches and dings are bound to happen, but I have look at this every time I get in my car and it drives me crazy. Other than replacing the B Pillar completely, is there anything I can do to help diminish the scratch? Anyone else have this problem?
Do you know what caused that? Maybe just use some black modelers paint, or auto touch-up paint. Might be hard to match since it's plastic. (I'll trade you your scratch, for the two chips in my windshield. )
I have NO clue what and how that scratch happened. But I haven't seen any new scratches lately (knock on wood). And sorry to hear about your windshield. Those are the worst! Hopefully they haven't spread and you can get them filled.
Thanks. It's a very small chip(s). I think it will be fine. I'll fill up the hole with Crazy Glue. I hate to ask this, but do you think maybe somebody did your scratch on purpose? It's in an odd place.
I would like to believe it was an accident. And I haven't noticed any other scratches on the B Pillar or any other parts of the car. So, if someone did do it on purpose, I would assume they wouldn't have stopped there.
Because of the texture that is difficult to repair 100%. Above mentioned filling with crazy glue....worth a try, then add color. A black permanent marker could also be a color match ...else some black paint. Looks like an accident not vandalism to me...diamond ring finger chip, wrist watch scrape or rock thrown from road way. Good luck.
No guys, I mentioned the Crazy Glue for my windshield chip, not her scratch. She could also put a happy face sticker over it.
My Gen 3 the tail was scratch too. On my Gen 4 too. I don't really know how it happened. Their is a cat that love my Prius he even wait for me sometime. Lol can't really get mad if it was him. I think we have to let's it Fly . It going to happen anyway. could be from a key. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I just got this at Ebay. It a key holder a few dollars. It flash light too. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Personally, I would try some black bumper paint. I've used it with much success to repair scratched up black motorcycle mirrors. In this case, spray some on a paper plate to pool so you can use a small brush to dab it in the chip. More extreme option: vinyl wrap the whole pillar (and the others to match).
Was gonna say like others did sharpie first, then if not a flat black spray paint applied with a fine paint brush. Pls post pics of your repair results. Good luck.
Your post actually reminds me that I have to get my white Prius v's windshield ding repaired. I believe last I checked I was quoted 60 bucks. I guess that is a good deal if it stops the ding from spreading into a crack, but I'm not sure if it will.
