<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(jaguaraja @ Jun 1 2006, 05:34 PM) </div> VSC ain't gonna help that mess. And that's *with* the Euro package (16" wheels and better handling suspension).
ohh.. that.. It's from Top Gear. They never liked the Prius or any hybrid for that matter anyway. As you can see, the smart went right off the road lol. btw, Euro suspension means nothing if the tyres suck jonny. They're usin Michelin Pilots HX.... If the TSX is any indication, those tyres aren't exactly the grippiest. TSX owners complain about the poor tyre grip.
depends. The Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus is rated "XGreen" i.e. an LRR tyre but it's plenty grippy, long durability and pretty comfortable. They're also hella expensive.. at least in Canada.
It almost looks like VSC basically thought the Prius was going to spin on that hard right so it kept the Prius going straight. The car following the Prius definitely did try spinning, and the Smart Car had no grip. You can replicate it in GT4 where the Prius does NOT turn with VSC, but will with VSC off, esp if you learn to give the Prius room to let the rear out so it can drift. Another fun ep of Top Gear is when somebody walking basically beat the SmartCar? on a time trail because the SmartCar? ran out of battery hard accelerating.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Prizzle @ Jun 1 2006, 06:20 PM) </div> Actually I'm keeping the Prius and ALSO getting an Exige.
The Prius obviously did not have the BT stiffening plate installed either..... WHo came up with the name SMArt car? WOW...too funny
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Tideland Prius @ Jun 1 2006, 05:40 PM) </div> True, but I'd like to think the suspension would help with the lean... and the prius leans like a drunken sailor in the video. Not as bad as the other cars, but still... I'm thinking a Jetta or a Fusion would be able to run through the course without embarrassing themselves.
