I just saw the movie IN HER SHOES with Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette and Shirley MacLaine which features a Prius. One of the main characters boyfriends drives a Prius in at least two scenes. You won't have any problem recognizing the car! I know this is not the first film with a Prius, but will this be a trend?
I don't know, but in the current Yellow Book commercial being played on CNN, there is a quick shot of a Prius in it.
its one thing to display a Prius in a movie, its a completely different story to drive one in real life. another reason why i love Cameron Diaz because a Prius is what she drives, an that aint no movie gimmick
Um, when you see the Prius featured in movies, it's because Toyota gave the producers money to feature it. "Product placement" is what it is. So whether or not the car appears in more movies depends solely on whether or not Toyota pays for the privilege.
I'm with you, there may be other forces involved. For example, If you believe this interview with Laurie David (Larry David's wife), she nags her friends in showbusiness to feature the Prius in TV shows. Movies too, I imagine. And since Cameron Diaz owns a Prius, as pointed out above, she might have asked for the Prius herself.
I knew about Cameron Diaz's Prius, but in the film it's her sister, played by Toni Collette, who is in the Prius. I'm just not sure if Diaz has enough clout to demand a Prius since she not a partner in the production, just an actress.
lol i have another prius movie... 'must love dogs' the poor prius is involved in two lovebirds search for condoms! -jake
The 40 Year Old Virgin has a Prius extra driving by in almost every car scene. I think it's the same car. Also I saw an inteview of one of the stars of the show 24 say something about a car chase scene with a Prius. I don't know what episode or season. It might be in the next season.
she is THE highest paid actress in hollywood, she can dictate nearly anything she wants. she is not a prima donna however and is rumoured to be one of the easiest people to work with. however, she is very very passionate about her beliefs and they include animal rights, conservation, environment, etc. iow, she is green and proud of it. there is no doubt in my mind that she did request the Prius be featured in the film. since i have no proof of this, i offered my opinion on the previous post
Not to bring back a thread from the dead, but I wanted to point out that there's a silver Prius driving along Wisteria Lane in several episodes of the second season of the TV show Desperate Housewives. One particularly memorable sequence happens in one episode, the Prius can be seen driving back and forth in the background during a conversation. [attachmentid=3655] [attachmentid=3654]

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Manksgloob @ Jun 1 2006, 01:55 AM) </div> As one of the five or so people in this country who has never watched "Desperate Housewives", is that woman about to be killed?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(oly_57mpg @ Jun 1 2006, 08:53 AM) </div> I should have been more clear. For the one scene, it looks like they stitched parts from multiple takes together, and so during the course of one conversation you see the Prius driving from right to left, then when the camera cuts to another person then back again, you see the Prius halfway across the screen going from left to right; Something that would be physically impossible in the real world given the one-second timeframe. I just found it highly memorable.
