Number one question that gets asked whenever I take my car to a show, I always lead in by saying, "look around and see how many civics, g35-37s, etc... Now look around and tell me how many Prius' do you see? That's why I modded it" I've always been one to not do the typical "popular" car when it comes to having fun and modding.. Who wants a car that looks like every other car wherever they go? I wonder this question about everyone else on here that has been modding there car and thought I would ask, have a great day y'all!
It was function over aesthetics at first. Told myself I would only put in $50 with few LEDs here and a phone mount there. Then $6K later, here I am. Got carried away I guess.
I'm pretty much on the same boat as you. I was inspired by @bino @HAWAIIANBUILT @Burna J & @sfv41901. I was initially gonna put 17" CT200h Wheels on. lol I did a lot of bartering and purchased most mods 2nd hand. Having a friend out in Japan helps a lot. My build is a bit under 8K.
I modded the Prius because I like cars too much, Prius looks good and I don't mind if I'm different lol
Seeing @HAWAIIANBUILT 's Prii in person at the it's JDM yo! 2011 SoCal meet and logging onto Priuschat... It was all downhill from there
I discovered this website....and found out how a Prius can look after modding. It was all downhills from there. Z.
To make it with a nicer appearance and better operation I started modding my MY 2004 in 2005, there where not to many accessories for the Prii at those days but in one year I dropped $6500.00 in one of the first DIY Plug-in modifications. The same one, improved and costlier is still operational in my wife's 2011.
because no one was modding it back then (this was 2008 on my Gen 2... and continued with my 2010 Gen 3)
Because of all the modded Prius ' s in here. I don't think I will ever get as cool as most of you, but the model 3 looks sleek when modded out. And heck, it's just fun to do it.
P.S. Should get my Clazzio seat covers within the next 2 weeks. So for, I will post what I have done: Tinted windows Replaced tail light bulbs with red turn signal and blue for reverse Removed stock wheel covers and put in center cap and 3M adhesive chrome trim Installed WoW walnut wood trim to interior
As long as we are not trying to build Ricers lol. I want mod my 09 Prius with very minimum mod but give it a more premium luxurious look like it's Luxury cousin Lexus CT. I have the base model as I'm not sure if I can convert to HID and screw up the electrical system. I want change those ugly small rims lol. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
