Well known software procedure of switching off reverse buzzer (beeper) is not working for European Prius. Thanks, Toyota. [Broken External Image]:http://www.smailiki.nm.ru/przd/przd14.gif It's official, final, no appeal possible. I installed parking assist which is beeping with incresing frequency as the car closing to the obstacle and I do not need this double beeping. Anybody knows which wire to cut to stop this annoyance? [Broken External Image]:http://www.smailiki.nm.ru/ammo/unr3.gif Seriously
what type of parking assist did you get and where did you get it? I am thinking of getting it also. Springer
It doesn't make sense for Toyota to make things different between US and European cars if they don't have to. Just a thought, since the procedure to silence the backup beeps involves the trip odometer, have you tried switching from KPH to MPH first? Just a guess.
Its the one labeled "Brakes." Those wacky Toyota engineers, always trying to throw people off with mislabeling. : )

Re: How to kill Reverse buzzer you can find the answer on vassfamily.net/ToyotaPrius. Please...don't go cutting stuff -Ben
Re: How to kill Reverse buzzer Thanks Ben. However, the whole point is that this standard procedure doesn't work with European Prius (Vassa guy imported Prius from US, I think). Therefore, there is only one way left - to cut the appropriate wire. Unfortunately, guys who are pretending to be knowlegeable (Pope John Prius, for example) demonstratively ignoring my request for help.
