I'm sick to everliving heck of getting run around in circles by a few different dealerships in the SouthEast Toyota area, specifically north Florida. After four dealerships (two that even took deposits) and a failed "order" that didn't fall through until the day after I was supposed to pick it up, I'm almost 6 months later and still no car. I've got a dealership who's going to try to "put in the request", but I don't like the sounds of "and hope that request will be honored by the distributor". With all the extra expenses the SE throw on, you'd think they'd be better to their customers. Can anyone help me find a dealer that can deliver a 2006 Black w/ Beige, package 5 or 6? Anywhere in the US? I'll fly/drive home! This is my dream car that I've wanted for years (since they announced they were going to make a Prius) and I can finally afford to buy it -- but this has been a nightmare. I know, I know, it's much harder if you have a color combo you "must" have, but it should be POSSIBLE! Thanks much for any help. ...and for forgiving the teensy bit of whining that crept in there.
they have pkg 5 in the SE, i don't think they have 6. there's a black/beige cloth pk5 available at DH's employer today (near raleigh nc) for $26744. it appears they've added some options in addition to what came with package 5 though. i can give you more info if you like.
Black is tough to get, but not 6 months tough. The dealers you have delt with are being somewhat disingenuous with you, or that pkg combo is harder for them to get. suck it up and get a pkg 8, youll be glad you did.

Koons in Annapolis, MD and Miller in Manassas, VA both have Black #6's but they don't tell interior color. www.millertoyota.com www.koons.com

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(NexusOfNow @ May 31 2006, 08:07 PM) </div> I'm in almost the same boat as you. I, too, am waiting for a black package 5 and it's taking longer than any other color (or so they tell me) to come in. I've been waiting since March 3rd, but the other guy waiting for the same one has been waiting a month more. Good luck to all three of us!
Cramer Toyota in Venice, FL has a black package 5 that will be available on 6/6/06. We bought our Camry from them back in 2000. If you can, ask for Joe Nolsten (I think that's his last name), he is really good about not adding useless things onto the car and knows his stuff.
Try www.vehix.com. You enter a zip code and specify any radius. Vehicle info includes MSRP, color, dealer name and phone number. We also got so frustrated with the SE region that we bought from the Chicago region (IL,IN,MN,WI). We drove away with the exterior/interior color combination and option package we wanted just days after calling. Paid MSRP + $100 admin fee. Good Luck
Thanks again to everyone who replied, and good luck to the other hopeful buyers! Black really is gorgeous on the Prius, so hopefully they'll get more in than they've been getting. Anyway, I now have a car. I called up that North Carolina dealer Thursday morning and put down a deposit, and Saturday morning I got up bright and early (well, DARK and early) to drive the 9 hrs on up there. Not only was the car EXACTLY what I've been struggling for, but the service was great and quick, too. We were done before dinnertime, got some sleep, and turned back around yesterday to drive home. So now I'm exhausted, but happy. I think I aged 6 years in the last 6 months, but it was worth it...
