Just bought my PIP about a month ago and couldn't live with the wheels any longer. The PIP rims are way too conservative for me, and I had enough of the thin contact patch and massive sidewall flex. First challenge was my dealer trying to order the wheels using my VIN. "Shows it's not available for your car", they said. After finding the p/n's, they came today and I mounted them up. To me, the Plus wheels have bumped the looks and handling attitude of the car up a smidge, with the downside being a harsher ride with some additional road noise. Still waiting to see if I get dinged on the EV mileage. I'm at 10.1 starting off with no AC on the original wheels. Dealer did the entire package with Michelin's for about 2K. A $100 lug-nut kit was required along with new sensors. Then, I had to use Techstream to "teach in" the new TMPS sensors with unique hex ID's that were printed on them. I have to admit, the biggest difference is the look of the car. 1G PIP doesn't look half bad with the right set on it! What do you guys think?
Looks good! Definitely put on 75%+ window tint. ... I wish I bought the Advance model. How effective is the Lane Keep Assist and that auto-braking at low speeds? The thick nice person A pillar gave me a couple pedestrian near misses.
The Advanced PiP does not have Lane Keep Assist. It has adaptive cruise control, which deals with cars in front of you. The new Prius Prime will offer Lane Keep Assist.
i don't know if i could put up with the noise or harshness, and possible mpg hit, but they look fabulous!
Definitely looks good but I must agree with bisco on this. I test drove a '14 with the fr-s 17" wheels and it was more road noise and rougher ride. On another note i am selling my alloy OEM wheels I swapped with my friend.
