Anything in particular to look for in a 3-year-old PiP, that came off of a lease? Haven't run the VIN yet, but will look at it later today. How does the traction battery hold up on these, and how could I determine if it's lost some range, except to test it by driving?

    Thanks!

really, nothing stands out. a few issues like charger replacement and inverter diodes have been taken care of under warranty for a couple people. no way to test the battery, just give it a full charge and see how far you can go in ev. make sure the engine doesn't come on until the ev runs out. make sure you get two fobs and the evse cable.
they're holding up fine so far, but the most miles we've heard around here is a little over 100k. i have 29,000 ev miles with no issues, getting around 14 miles ev on back road around 30 mph. all the best!(y)

Thanks! Nothing negative shows up from a VIN search, except that the car came from New York within the past year. The possible washing of a branded title always comes to mind in these situations. This has happened to us, when Carfax had reported a clean title.

Why would a lease return come from another state? Usually lease returns are sold by the same dealer, in the same state

I know. Strange. Anything odd like this makes me run away. I think this is a no-go.

yeah, it sounds more like an auction vehicle.....not that anything is wrong with that...but it's not a straight forward lease return

Lessee could have moved from NY to your area.

Probably this is an auction vehicle. He advertised as private party, but is actually a dealer. He has other out-of-state vehicle for sale, too.
