Same here...thankful for this resource, It has been a great source of information already. Had to troubleshoot TPS after less than 24 hours of ownership. Was able to resolve issue quick.
First post here. I use to drive CB7 Accords with cb7tuner, then a Jaguar XJR... Two years ago my wife and I picked up a 2010 Prius IV w/ leather and solar roof. This is now our only car. Great ownership experience. It is now about time to do some maintenance (read: upgrades ), so thought I would take part in the forum. It seems like a great community. Anyone in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area?
Welcome, Victor! @Tideland Prius tagged me and I noticed the thread. He is right, I am in Milton now, but I lived in Mississauga (Meadowvale area) prior to that, up to 2012 when I moved west for more space for my growing family. I recently upgraded to my 2nd Prius - a 2014 Plug-In - and before that I had a 2006 which I ran almost 400k KM before it needed more repairs than it was worth, but that car never stranded me once, even when the hybrid battery failed at close to 300k. These cars are fantastic. ;-) Let me know if ever need any significant repair work done on your car, I can refer you to my mechanic in Concord who specializes in Prius and does great work for very fair prices. Cheers!
Awesome! Nice meeting you online @Sarge. I'm also in Mississauga, near the Heartland Shipping Centre area. I am trying to do most maintenance work myself. Will definitely connect with you for major work! 2014 Plug-in eh? Did you buy that in Canada? Honestly I have never seen one in person. Does it drive similar to the regular Prius? VT
Yep, it handles virtually the same as a regular Prius, but with the perk of being able to plug in and charge to get about 20km of all-electric driving. The only visual differences are the the 'plug in hybrid' badges on the fenders, and the silver door handles and trim on the front bumper and trunk. In Ontario, a plug-in car also gets me a green plate, allowing me to drive solo in the 403, 404 and QEW HOV lanes. In June, Ontario made this a *permanent* perk for green plates, which cemented my decision to move on getting this car. I drive a lot for work and use the 403 lanes pretty regularly. I agree that plug-in Prius are very rare in Canada, if you see a light blue one (which BTW is an exclusive colour to the plugin) in the GTA, it is probably me. Mine is a Canadian model which I bought used in June. I haven't seen another one in this colour in Toronto, except one at the airport, but it had NY plates. I also have tinted windows for added uniqueness. There is another longtime user on here (@Eug) who also has a Plug in Prius in the GTA.
Just bought this '04 with a ton of miles on it. It's clean though and hopefully lasts long enough to pay for itself in fuel savings!

I just purchased my first Prius! It is a 2016 4 Touring. I love it so far, but I only have about 50 miles on it.
So I bought mine this past Thursday (it's a 2016 3 Touring), and in 3 days put 450 miles on it, and I still have about 1/4 tank to go. I really had no idea I would buy it, because I did not like the previous generation, and really, I was looking for something much faster, and much more expensive. I had 2 hours to kill Thursday however, and ended up buying this car. The 72 month 0% thing kind of did it for me really. I'm amazed at how much car I got for so little money. I'm very happy with it.
