do you have a 2nd vehicle other than prius? if so, what is it and is it for fun or what?

I currently do not have one, but hope to in the future, since the prius is not really designed for fun.

My wife has a "Company Car" a Chevy Tahoe. We can either drive a Prius which gets 39 MPG or a Tahoe which gets 16 MPG, but we do not pay for the gas. Always a tough choice.

Yes. but not all are in my garage, I'm fortunate enough to have a hanger with enough room for the Cessna and some cars.

Dodge Ram for hauling work or toys and commuting
Jeep Wrangler for fun or deep snow and commuting
    SRT Charger for commuting
Kawasaki Z1000 for commuting when wife and I aren't car pooling
    Willys M38 for commuting
VW powered sandrail, but it's not plated in Colorado due to stupid laws so it's for looks, and is "never driven" and it certainly wouldn't be seen commuting with a Montana plate on it.
some old camaro, it's my wife's, she uses it for going to the hairdresser and commuting when we're not carpooling

Currently on the look for a M35A2 that I can bob the rear on and use it to haul things to the dump and commuting

No - other than the Aston Martin in my dreams.

Seriously, if I did have a second "fun" car, it would be something like a Mazda MX5 (Miata) - but I'd have to work out if I could get in and out without damaging any of my moving parts. Only one person here - the dogs aren't allowed to drive (till autonomous cars come).

I don't know your situation but I'm 6 foot 285 lbs and I can fit comfortably in any miata 2001 or newer. The newer, the easier it is. Such a fun little car the older miatas are, the newer ones are getting a bit big in my opinion but they're still a lot of fun. At the very least you should take a Miata out for a test drive. If you like sporty cars at all a Miata will put a big smile on your face.

I had a 1994 Miata. Most fun car I've ever owned! I fit in it:p

HA! I haven't tried getting into a NA, but they look smaller. I think I'd be fine in any NB, but I believe they did a facelift somewhere in the NB generation, I don't know when or what was changed that's why I specify. I used to work for Ford way back when and was able to steal a MazdaSpeed Miata when they were first rolling out. I absolutely loved that car. Was glad to be rid of it before the snow fell, but it was a blast whenever the sun was out.

Our second car is a 2007 Toyota Yaris sedan that my wife uses to get to and from the train station 8 miles away for her daily commute. The electrical system in it is all messed up; we don't know exactly what the previous owner did to it. The door locks don't work; it has an aftermarket alarm and stereo system that don't work properly. Recently the air conditioner switch started trying to lock the doors too, leaving us with no way to turn the a/c on. We need to find a decent electrical repair guy before this Yaris goes up in flames.

I wish we still had the 2003 Echo we gave to our son when my wife decided she wanted the Yaris instead. That Echo was a very good car.

I had no idea that Toyota was secretly French.

My other car is a Prius. It used to be a Sonata but I liked the Prius so much I jumped on the chance to own another one when my brother needed to sell his Prius. A fun car? It is the money a Prius saves me so I can buy more toys.

People talk about saving money on the gas, but the thing I love about the prius is I save so much TIME not looking for a gas station and filling up, so awesome!

Yes. My primary car is my '13 Leaf SV w/premium package that I bought used a bit over a year ago (was built 5/2013). I bought it used (Leaf resale value is crap) after having leased a '13 Leaf SV w/both packages.

My 06 Prius now mostly sits in my garage...

Well I've held off on this thread until I had more metrics. Starting Friday morning, I'm driving the BMW i3-REx for free for a week.

I don't look too cool driving my 2007 Prius so I also have a 2008 Mustang.
It's just a V-6 but so much more powerful than the Prius.
Gets lots of looks too; especially when my wife drives it!

    2000 Miata.

It actually spent about a year as my daily before I got the Prius (with exceptions for winter, where I drove my old Golf TDI with no heat, to keep the Miata out of the salt).

And, all Miatas from 1990-2005 are really the same basic car, just with updated engines and interiors. You can, however, swap seats at will between those years, and the door cards can IIRC be swapped from an older car into the new cars as well, if you need more space (the 1999-2005 door cards take up more interior room, so if you're wider, swapping in 1990-1997 door cards actually helps).

I've got seats out of 1992s (two different ones, actually, long story) in my 2000 - the stock 2000 seats were torture devices.

And then, if you're really tall, there's always a Lotus Elise seat swap with custom seat brackets...

I do a lot of stuff outdoors and in the backcountry, so I needed something that could get me ANYWHERE.
