I noticed that my sun visor when placed on the side where the window is wobbles like crazy on the road. I asked the dealer about it and they said I would have to purchase a new one even though the car is under factory extended warranty.. they said they don't warranty parts used by the customer.. I then told them I never moved the passenger side and when I moved it over to the window it was wobbly too, so it came that way from the factory. They said they will look into it but prob wont get a call back.. Anyone notice this at all? Its bad when going down the freeway and you hit some small dips in the road.
if you're under warranty, it should be covered. talk to the service manager "don't warranty parts used by customer" is plain stupid. everything is used by customer.
do you have a copy of the extended warranty? btw, i have never heard of this before. can you tell where it's loose? did it just start, or since new?
You'll find that if you rotate the sun visor all the way around and rest it on headliner/door frame you'll eliminate the wobbling. After all, when it's detatched from the pivot anchor and put parallel to the window it has no support just hanging in mid air.
Yes I popped it off, no screws so there is basically no way to tighten it... They need to come up with a thicker insert that goes inside of the mount to make it fit tighter...
You have to remember, the majority of service writers are stupid and the remainder will pretend to be stupid if it means they don't have to write anything as a warranty item. Nobody has gotten a service writer to say, "hey, I have a brilliant idea, if I get creative and do this we can get this covered for you at no cost!" Sounds harsh I know, but is it untrue?
Without more data..... Seems to me the only thing that can break would be the rod that runs horizontally along the top of visor. Service could imagine that the part was broken by a consumer. The hinge assemble at the head liner/ the part that rotates, if loose or out of spec, that I would think could be an warranty item. Let us know. Good luck
