Is that in one with a sun roof? Which model and options?

    Looks very nice!

Do you find the mirror position is the same as the OEM one? And had the shop worked on a Gen4 Prius previously?

Yes, the mirror position is the same as the OEM, but the slim bezel design looks much better. The HomeLink signal from the mirror is pretty strong too. I don't know if the shop has worked on Gen4 Prius before, but the job is pretty straight forward for car stereo shops.

Is the plug for the homelink mirror already there under the head liner?

Yes - does anyone know how easy one of these is to add? I'd like to do it, but don't really want to pay the installation fee - my budget allows for the hardware alone... :))

No, you need to run the 3 wires to the junction box in the car. Look at the Installation Instruction document for the mirror in the Shop section.

This is the post above that led me to believe there was more to this issue:

I'm wondering if your two looks like this or not:

This is my second post on this issue of aftermarket Homelink mirrors for Gen. 4. I have a Three Trim with ATP and sunroof. I can say categorically that an aftermarket Homelink mirror will not work with the Three with ATP and sunroof. The first time I tried it, it didn't work. I had my old aftermarket mirror from my 2011. Not enough room to adjust the mirror upwardly to see enough out of the rear window. The plastic cover for the radar cruise mechanism gets in the way. The second time I tried it, I followed the information from Prius Chat that said their aftermarker mirror worked with ALL 2016 Prius. Wrong! The plastic cover for the radar mechanism gets in the way of adjusting the the mirror up enough to see out the back window. I'm done. Just, FYI.

We are enjoying the homelink functionality of the new mirror but are leaving fingerprints every time a different family member drives the car (which happens a lot!).

Also, it is a little weird that the mirror darkening does not extend out to the edges of the mirror.

The post of CHC that I am responding to is the most important in this thread. Prius 2016 Three + ATP and Three Touring PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. Aftermarket mirror does not fit! I paid for mine at the time of purchasing my car at the dealers' a week ago. The guy came yesterday and failed to install. It just does not fit. At least he did not break a cover as CHC described in his first post. My hope was that it was possible to install the mirror Toyota is using on Four (T), but apparently it is not the case either.

So where do go from here? Any ideas?

so out of boredom, I bought a HomeLink/Auto dimming mirror off eBay for $30 and installed it yesterday. Takes about 15 minutes. Works great. There isn't any plug available as mentioned before but there is only 3 wires. Pin #6 is ignition, #8 is ground and #10 is constant +12v. The constant 12v is red wire in the overhead console. Ignition wire I ran from the fuse box up (for my hardwired dash cam which is already there) so I just tapped into that. Ground, I just drilled a hole and bolt into the metal support tab.

You are correct that the plastic cover gets in the way. Being the cheap person that I am, I just left the cover off. From the driver's seat you don't notice that the cover is missing. It is just somewhat noticeable from the passenger seat. I can live with it to save a 150+ dollars

Do you have pictures of this? I have got an aftermarket Gentex and couldn't get it at the right angle even with the upper half of the cover off. I'm going to be returning it.

I did a comparison of the mirrors and the base of the aftermarket is too short (the joint doesn't protrude as much as the stock manual mirror). This makes it conflict if you have the black plastic camera cover in the windshield.
