Hi all, I replaced my front struts today and afterward the ABS and "(!)" light came on as soon as I turned on the car. I checked the speed sensor lines and they all look okay so I didn't damaged them in the process. The car brakes quite soft but still works and the regenerative braking still works. The mechanic (car shop on base so they help with most things) pulled the following codes: C1300 and C1319. I went ahead and reset the ABS light by crossing pin 4 and 13 on the OBD2 connector technique. That reset the lights, and the brake also works as normal as well. After driving around a bit, turned off the car, then turned it back on the lights came back on again. I'm don't know what I could have possibly done that caused the lights to come on. I have a hard time believe that the skid control ECU went bad while I was changing the struts. I feel like I'm missing something very obvious here. I hope some experienced diyers here could point me to the right direction. Thanks!
After resetting the ABS light a few times by crossing pin 4 and 13, now I can't seem to be able to reset it anymore. Driving without the electronic feedback feels weird. The battery is still being recharged, but it seems to be doing so slower. I noticed that my front passenger brake might not be working -- touched the rotor after a long drive and it's stone cold whereas the driver side is hot. I guess that might be the issue although I don't know what's not working yet.
Suggest that you recheck the sensors and wires one more time. If that doesn't help, you might need to see if someone else chimes in having experienced a similar issue and can offer further suggestions.
Update: My original problem was ABS light came on (only ABS, no VSC) after I changed my front struts which leads to loss of braking. I pulled my wheels off and bled all 4 brake lines, cleared the codes, and it had been fine since then. I hope that helps others who might have similar problem.
