I am a brand spanking new owner of a Prius 2012, all you seasoned veterans, do you recommend adding a fuel additive with the fill ups?

    No.

If you are cheap, buy gas at a station with high turnover so the gas does not age, if you have the cash buy top tier gas

It's an ICE, and behaves pretty much like any other. Not regularly, but an occassional dose of Techron or Seafoam will help avoid collecting contaminents in the fuel system. Maybe every 1/4 year or so. The more the car is driven, the less you need additives, if it sits around a lot, or has lots of short-cycle trips, more often.
