My guzzler is a 1992 Mitsubishi LRV (Lite Rec Vehicle). Purchased new, just 75,000 miles, plus 34 mpg hiway!

We both hate it......but it's a versatile little pre-SUV-era "microvan".

The wife is the primary driver of the '05 Seaside Blue Prius. Her previous car was a '96 Saturn SW2 that I'm still driving. It has 108,000 miles on it and while the engine is still going strong rust will claim it from below, the spare tire well fills up with water when it rains. Not a good sign. My other vehicle is a '98 Tacoma 4x4 that we use only sparingly anymore. It's the tow vehicle, the cargo carrier, and the plow truck in the winter. It's also the reason I drive the SW2 to work; 35 mpg beats 22 mpg.

I'm anxiously anticipating the release of the '08 Prii, then I'll get a new vehicle. But we'll always have a truck.

We've got an '04 Sienna. We traded in our '04 Honda CR-V for our Prius - the Sienna got better gas mileage, had more room, and treated my back much better.

We also have a '99 Escort, but it is driven exclusively by our daughter.

My wife refuses to part with the '99 Jag XJ-8 which averages 21 mpg. Arghh!

What will stay in the garage for as long as possible is the '90 Dodge OMNI (Colorado Red). Still runs like new, but about every 6 months seems to require another $800 worth of repair work. Well worth the investment.

my other car's are a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan, and a 2001 Honda Valkyre Motorcycle. My Prius gets better MPG than both of them. The motorcycle is more fun to ride. It is my performance vehicle.

Traded in our '98 Audi A6 Wagon (Quattro) already on our hopefully-to-arrive-soon '06 Driftwood Pearl Prius. The Audi averaged ~22mpg!! We usually commute together (80mi roundtrip), we'll probably become a two Prius family if that changes :)

Hopefully the Driftwood Pearl will do better with our miles of orange dirt road than the pearl white did... it looked like a creamsicle the day after we'd wash it.

    Other family vehicles are: '86 Toyota 4Runner, '86 Toyota 4Runner Turbo (currently rebuilding), '86 Ford F250 Pickup (460ci V8, 11mpg! Yes, it sits a lot...), '03 BMW F650GS (wife's, ~68mpg), '02 BMW R1150GS (~47mpg... less than the Prius?), '02 BMW K1200RS (for sale! it's my wife's fault I now have a GS :))

My wife drives a 2001 Ford Windstar. Not bad for a van, very comfortable on long drives, but only about 18 MPG.

I just handed over my 1996 Jetta to my daughter. It was a great car for 10 years, and I expect it to last for several more years. I just replaced the original spark plugs and timing belt at 102K. Even on the original plugs, I was getting 30 MPG.

I had a funny experience driving the van this weekend. I kept finding myself trying to get into stealth mode. Of course no stealth, but I'd like to think I helped the MPG a little.

My husband drives a 1998 Subaru Outback and I saved the 1994 Mazda MPV for the dog (he's not allowed to ride in the Prius...yet).

Husband has a 2003 (I think?) Honda Accord. The Prius is mine. He loves it when I "let" him drive my car and is jealous that it has more geek features than his (reverse camera, bluetooth, better Navi). I can see his next car easily being a Prius or another equally geeky hybrid. :D

Both well over 100,000 miles. My wife now drives the '98 the 3/4mi. to and from work. The '93 is my supermarket car. Perfect for dealing with those SUV moms and 80-somethings that tend to leave carts all over the lot including against your car.

Interesting, lots of Volvos, Audis and Subarus.

Our other car is a GMC Yukon XL "pkg#8", similiar to the one we sold to get the Prius. The Yukon is a great vehicle, zero problems after 100,000 miles but stoopid to drive around by yourself, never tow anything and to only rarely drive off road.
