Picked her up tonight. Upgraded from a '15 Persona. I HIGHLY encourage everyone to drive the 4th Gen. You'll know what I mean by it really feels and drives like a sports car. It's so comfortable, fast and sporty. It handles amazingly well. I'm not saying the 3rd Gen was horrible, but WOW what a difference. I thought the Two had auto headlights on/off, but the switch doesn't say Auto anywhere?
Congrats! It is a huge difference in the driving experience. MPG, comfort, handling and even the driving position. Two Eco and higher have automatic headlights. Only the Two has auto-off. (Thanks @RoadNoise) lol... It really is a big difference. You feel like you're driving a sportier Camry/Avalon (minus the space but still). Also, the mileage is incredible. It's consistently beating the Gen 3, even in hilly terrain.
Congratulations! Nice color choice too. It looks like your interior is black, am I right? You are 100% right that the new Prius is drastically better than the Gen 3. I'm reminded of that almost every day as I have both in my garage. Not that the Gen 3 is bad, in fact my 2010 with 112k miles is still going strong and consistently returns 50+ mpg. I went from a Prius II to a Prius 4 w/ the ATP & PCP packages. I really wanted the extras this time around. I notice that you went from the Persona to the 2, which is a step down in accessories. Did they not mean that much to you? Or do you plan to upgrade a few things later (like maybe leather or after market stereo, etc.)?
Congrats on your purchase. Surprised you did not get a Three. It comes with a spare IIRC and has more whistles and bells. Visual Tables of Gen4 Package Combinations | PriusChat Best of luck to you.
Since you mentioned that, why did you go with the Two rather than the Three? Did you keep the Persona or trade it in?
Three has some upgrades, but not enrich to justify a few grand in my opinion. I don't use navigation. The two toned wheels are just ....ok. Auto headlights cool option, but not a necessity.
Congratulations! The Prius two has an auto-off feature like my 2nd gen Prius. The lights turn off after the car turns off, even if the switch is turned to the on position. It doesn't have a sensor to turn the lights on or off. It would help me remember to turn on the lights once I start driving at night.
