Hi all, I was hoping I can get some feedback from you all. It's been about a month since I had the TRD springs installed in my ride. For some reason I just now noticed that I may need to realign the HID headlights. Seems like it doesn't project out as far as it did before it was lowered. Maybe it's just me or could be the PIP headlight assembly I just swapped out. Any tips on how to realign the headlight projection?
I believe the adjustment procedure is in the user manual. If it isn't, there's an adjustment bolt on the back of each headlight housing, in the engine compartment. Turn the bolt clockwise to lower the headlight beam and counter clockwise to raise the beam.
It takes an 8mm socket, or you can even use a large Phillips head screwdriver to engage the teeth of the adjuster wheel from the side. I prefer to use the socket though.
Keep in mind that you should never adjust your lights so that they are rising the farther out they shine. That's a good way to PO everyone you follow or approach. Park 20 to 30 feet away from a flat wall on a level surface. Your cutoff should be a few inches lower than the height of the center of your headlight projector lenses. This ensures that your headlights are going downward the farther out they shine.
