Touchscreen misalignment

    My 2010 Prius' touchscreen went from working perfectly fine one day to not working the next. When I try to tap one of the virtual buttons, it will trigger something else, leading me to believe it is misaligned somehow. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Anything I can do without having to take it into the dealer or purchase something new? Thanks!

    check the menu, maybe there's an alignment selection

    The problem is I can't navigate to anything given the misalignment.

    try to reset your car, unplug the 12v battery negative for a minute and see what happens

    Thanks for the suggestion. Any other ways to go about it though, as I don't have the proper tools with me to disconnect the bolts...?

    You might not need any tools, on gen2 cars, there's 2 plugs you and just unplug that are on the battery components. I don't know the proper term for those things. Unplug them and plug them back after a minute or 2. I would think gen3 cars would be similar in design

    If you needed a tool, it would only be a 10mm wrench. That's all that holds the negative terminal or the bolt to the body ground....both are 10mm and you can disconnect either one.

    Now the unit is completely unresponsive to touch – and the Toyota dealership says it would need a whole new unit to work properly.

    I can survive without the touchscreen, using my phone for GPS and audio through Bluetooth. My problem is that I will be getting a new phone and can't seem to add a new phone without touching some settings on the touchscreen. Any advice on a way to get around this? It seems a waste to buy a whole new unit just to add a new phone.

    I think it would be cheaper to just use the phone as is and take the bus
