Took a peek underneath the hood (currently at 51,000). See some pink fluids and a brown one that are nearing the "low" marker.

Where would one get factory fluids, a dealer? How easy is it to top off as DIY?

    Thanks

If you service your car at the dealer, I'm sure they'll be happy to top off those 2 for you. No need to buy a gallon of that stuff to top off

Pink I'd assume to be the 2 coolant reservoirs. You can pick up the coolant from any dealership to top them up. Unfortunately you have to buy a gallon, but you could include that in a DIY coolant change down the road.

    Brown? Engine oil, brake fluid?

Brown colored stuff is in a smaller clear plastic encasement near the base of the windshield. Seems to be brake fluid oil.

Yeah that was my guess. Again I would just use Toyota's fluid, just to be on safe side. That said, if the fluid is near the low mark, and the system has no leaks, could mean your pads are near ready for replacement. That's been my experience with various Hondas. The fluid level drops as the pads wear, and level hitting low mark coincides with worn out pads.

One thing tricky: if you open the (shut down) car via the front passenger door, and reach across to pop the hood, you'll see the brake fluid level is about 1/2" higher. If you then open the driver's door, the pump will start and brake fluid level in the reservoir will drop.

before worrying about topping up, i would watch the level. mine are similar to yours at 42,000 lies, but they have always been there.

I'm at 85k lifetime miles now on my PiP and I have never topped up or changed any fluids myself. When I do oil changes they check and top them up.

That could be risky, in particular with the engine oil level. You might be consuming oil, never catch it, till the warning light comes on. I'm pretty sure they don't check your oil level prior to draining.

    I didn't say I didn't check my oil level.
