Does anyone else have the overwhelming requirement to read every-single-thread-and-comment on the "Gen 4 2016 Toyota Prius Forums"? I cannot allow any highlighted threads and/or posts to go unread. Is this normal? Does anyone else engage in this behavior?
I think your talking about... the threads are all in cache in your browser and therefore they are darker, unless you read and refresh the page? I might not have explained that well. But on this site I have to use Safari (on a Mac) and have the "Cache Disabled" - otherwise everything looks like I haven't read it... when I have. Is that what your asking?
I am saying that I feel compelled to read each and every posting on this Forum. I do see by highlighted text which ones I have yet to read.
It's just like any other website/forum that people get addicted to. Or obsessed about. Or whatever. (I found the same behavior in financial discussion forums.) Wait until you're retired, Kevin... you might set a new record for posting! May even surpass bisco's postings!! (No offense bisco. I like your comments.) You guys need to eat more pizza.
Well yes and no. Not exactly. But I joined in 2009 and have 6,700+ comments. So..... Me no throw any rocks concerning obsessive Prius Chat behavior or involvement.
I can't believe I'm already up to 740 posts?!!? (That's retirement, for ya.) And 80% of my posts are just nonsense or miserable attempts at humor. And the remaining 20% just seems to make people angry with me... I better go back to the Ford Pinto forum!
On a serious note, I think my Prius may vey well turn out to be the best vehicle I've ever owned. And I am thankful for all the kind and knowledgeable folks in these forums. There is a wealth of information to be gained here from all the Prius "veterans." I appreciate it very much! Thanks for putting up with all my newbie questions (and complaints / silly gripes...) You guys & gals are great.
I'm still a newbie and am in a bit of a panic over not being able to locate the Blind Spot Monitoring so that I can turn it back on. It appears as if I've accidentally canceled it according to page 139 in the Owner's Manual. Any advice as to how to get it un-canceled?
I'd ring your salesman/lady and ask them - it is probably not the first time it's happened. Seeing the car is so new to you, they should organize to fix it for you - or show you where it's hiding . My salesman has rung me once to ask how I'm going with it - he answered one question and said if there was anything else, he'd look next time I'm going past with a couple of spare minutes. Yes, I've a few questions now. They might have to refer to service who might need to plug in a laptop to sort it out.
Yep, the one million page short guide without a detailed accurate index indeed sucks. If it was electronic you could do a search/maybe. Still the names of things are sometimes a little strange.
