the wife and I just bought a Red 2010 Prius II with 72000 miles and could not be happier. In fact I am frustrated I haven't owned one of these cars yet. Driving in all electric mode is so satisfying as well as getting 45 mpg+ around town. This vehicle was serviced entirely by the toyota dealership by the previous owners and it shows in the smoothness of the drivetrain. I love the comfortable seats and the XM radio. After buying I raised the tire pressure to 40psi all around and did a paint correction and put Optimum gloss coat to protect the paint for years to come. Even though the car was "detailed" at the dealership I think I spent 6 hours detailing it properly. I am next going to tint the windows I think 20% all the way around with a 50% winshield. I have an appointment in a couple weeks for that. I sold a mazda 3 to get this car and while I loved my mazda, the economical nature of the prius will be great for our family for the foreseeable future. Anyways I'm glad to be here and have attached some pictures I took after I detailed it. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Thanks I spent 6 hours today on the paint and it made all the difference! Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Sure looks good, and I like the color. It sure is fun learning about these highly technical machines. I've had mine four years and have 156,000 miles on it now, although it's nickeled and dimed me to death, I've already had to replace the 12V battery and the left low beam headlight. Just a money pit. The 12V battery didn't go bad, I moved it to my generator and still going strong.
Thank you! I am having alot of fun with it. If all you have had to do is a new battery and headlight I'll take that "money pit" any day of the week! Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Yeah I am aware of the law. In my last 2 cars I have had 20% all the way around and been fine. The thing I am nervous about is the 50% winshield I might go with 70% to be safe but I definetly want to darken it up so it looks less like a fishbowl. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Welcome aboard. Great looking 2010 you got there. Your cleaning efforts certainly show. I hope you've got a comfy chair because there's tons of info here to answer all your possible questions. Be sure to use the search function but also don't be afraid to ask.
Looks like a very well kept car, very sharp. I know you're going to do what you're going to do, but I would pass on the tint. Keep it stock. Aftermarket tint always looks, well: aftermarket. Safer too, especially at night.
