So on my new c, I noticed that the blue-topped shifting knob was turned a little to the left. I found that I could turn it back to straight. This bothers me a little. Does this mean my shifter is loose, or are they all like that? Thanks.

I have a similar problem with my 2010 Gen 3. I probably could try to remove the knob, add a drop of glue, and put he knob back in place. But it doesn't happen often enough to really bother me.

Yup, also happens to my 2010.

But it does stay reasonably well if I don't shift too tensely.... so it's probably designed as an early warning device against road rage

The knob is a screw off. You can replace it with a different one if you wanted. Just turn it on nice and tight and you shouldn't have any problems with it.

Just tighten it another turn. It simply screws off and on.
