I needed a bale of straw for my garden....I went to the local feed store and was told to bring my vehicle into the loading area....the faces of the men when they saw my small Prius c was unforgettable. I opened my hatch back and the man asked if the inner lid came off? No I replied, but no problem....I put the seats down and asked him to shove the bale of straw in sideways through the backdoor. He shook his head and said I'll try. A few moments later the bale of straw was in my Prius heading home. I couldn't see out the rear view mirror and straw was flying everywhere but I made it home. My daughter helped me push and pull the straw out onto a tarp. I was left with a mess to clean up in my car....straw was everywhere...it took me two hours of vacuuming to get up all the straw that had dropped, but now I know a full bale of straw will fit in a Prius c.
The lid does come off..I had to take it off when helping move my grandparents walker one time. But otherwise I haven't had anything big to transport in my C...just lots of groceries from Costco every now and then
Thanks for the info....I didn't know the lid came off....will have to investigate it more.....still finding straw in my car
