Weird Random Play Behavior from USB

I have a 2013 Prius Two and loaded a USB drive with numerous MP3 files. I use Windows Media Player and selected all of my "4 & 5 star" songs to copy to the USB drive. The Prius plays the files without any issue. However, there is one very weird behavior with the Random Play setting.

It randomly plays songs from the USB drive. I turn off the car. I turn the car back on and it will continue playing the last song (this is as I would expect). However, the very next song is ALWAYS from an artist (Chris Isaak) with a single folder (only one of his albums), 3 files (songs) in the folder. It does not matter what song was playing, when I turn off the car, turn it back on the next "full song" will ALWAYS be one of the Chris Isaak songs. (And usually only 2 of the 3, but it occasionally picks the 3rd one.)

Now to make it "more weird", if I'm playing one of Chris' songs and turn off the car; turn it back on, it will finish that song and then play a random song, from some other artist; as I would expect and hope it would always do.

This artist is 20-something down the list of artists and (without counting) 50-something down the list of albums. I understand that the Windows copying scheme may have "randomly" written these folders first, but I have not investigated.

Anyone want to take a crack at this weird behavior? Any ideas how to get the USB playback to be "random" when selecting the 1st full song once the car is turned on? Don't get me wrong, I like these songs, that's why they are on the USB drive; I just don't want to listen to Chris Isaak EVERY TIME I GET INTO THE CAR...

    Thanks for your thoughtful suggestions!

The issue that I have with me is it really isn't random. I gave up using the usb drive. I just stream audio from my phone with Bluetooth. Also I can use my favorite android music player and play my own custom playlists.

While I understand this is probably something that is legitimately frustrating the OP.

I cannot honestly read the original post without laughing.

Thank you to the few that responded. I never got a notice that anyone did respond, so I never looked at this post...

Just in case anyone has the same problem, there is a simple fix. Find a "second of silence" on the web and save that sound file to your desktop (probably want to use the same format as your other audio files). On your USB drive, make a copy of the folder where the duplicate(s) are played from. Then rename that folder (e.g., something like silence). Then rename the copy back to the original name. Go into the silence folder and remove all but one album. Rename the album (e.g., something like silence again). Then move the "second of silence" from from your desktop into the silence album.

Now the repeated song will be just a second of silence; easy to ignore.
