Doesn't matter how much I rave about the car and try to convince people that the Prius is a great car to drive, they all like to talk their smack. No more.....

I'm a DIY'er and enjoy these little project, I've done many on my 2000 Acura Integra (yes I still have it) many years ago. So now its the 2005 Prius's turn.

Tinted Windows $70 - 3 hours time. 20% in the all rear windows, 35% in the front driver and passenger windows

Sanded down the fogged over headlights and applied a clear coat to brighten them up $10. 1 hour time
    [IMG]

Lastly I've painted the stock wheels gloss black $15. However I left the lug nuts and center Toyota cap silver. 1 hour time

That's it for now but more to come

now its time to de-badge the hatch, and then replace the wimpy stock sway bars with a progress rear and oe front from corolla/ matrix.

How did you do the wheels? Did you use tape or take the whole thing off?

Yes I will do a de-badge here very soon. Sway bars are in the far future though.

I left the wheels on and masked everything behind the wheel with plastic bags and masked off the lug nuts and the toyota center caps. Then I wet sanded the wheel, added primer, painted flat black, then added a glossy clear coat. I had to move the car back 2 feet to make sure I got full coverage around the rim. Pretty easy if your good with spray paint.

    Next 2 weeks:
I will be ordering gloss black vinyl to cover the rear spoiler and roof, maybe do the hood too.
After that I'll be replacing all the lights with LEDs, Starting with headlights and fog lights.

Then we will take it from there...Thanks for the comments everyone!

rear progress sway bar is a 10 minute upgrade; front oem corolla/ matrix bar is a bit more difficult, but the bars are cheap used from the junkyard. you won't believe the difference in ride.

I'm super interested to see what this looks like!

Painting your mirror covers black (they pop right off) might look cool too!

most of the kids here use plastidip. that way if they decide they don't like it, it just peels off.

you can do it right on the car, just use painters tape and newspaper to mask it, and spray the wheels with a few coats of plastidip (assuming you have plastidip in European stores)

I will have a look I'm guessing sand it all down like a wet sand

for plastidip, you don't need to sand it down, just clean the wheels real good with naptha or mineral spirits. if they are beat up you might want to sand em, but at that point you might want to use a more permanent paint than plastidip.

You mean to say you have an Integra and it hasn't been stolen yet? If it's a Type R, then this becomes a question of how many times it's been stolen.

Good job with the headlights - I need to do the same thing since mine are just starting to fog.
