A better question is Would you pick lettuce all day long under a scorching sun for minimum wage? (Keep in mind that lettuce grows close to the ground, so you have to bend over all day long.)

There was an article similiar to this in the Wall Street Journal recently. It was concluded it would only add something like $ 0.18 (18 cents) per head of lettuce to pay $ 100,000/yr depending upon if the hiring company paid benefits or if the govenment (fed & state taxpayers) picked them up as they do now.
