Hi all, in the SF bay area and prius prices seemed to be up there. I was able to locate a "2010 V not Five" with the advanced technology package and under 45K miles for about the same price as a "2012 three" with just navigation, back up camera and cloth interior. What would you experts suggest?
doesn't take an expert, just an opinion of what you want for toys and safety. both great cars, but i would prefer the 2012.
You didn't mention the 2012 mileage. As others have said the 2012 has a younger battery, so that's it's real advantage. But the bottom line, it comes down to what you want In a car. Only you can make that choice. Can't go wrong either way.
I have almost 100,000 miles on my V-AT. I'm still running the original programming and not had any problems. I want the gizmos. The Three with the 15" wheels should deliver better fuel economy.
Thanks for the heads up on the wheels. As much as I like the larger wheels, fuel economy is also important.
I went and tried the Intelligent Parking Assist on the 2010 today and wasn't impressed. The car wasn't as clean as I expected for a 43K car. The leather was hard. And the info screen had moisture in it. I am starting a new search for a 2012 2013 three, four or five depending on price.
I bet you never did park the car successfully with the parking assist, it's a joke. Many 2010 had a fuzzy display with moisture, it was fixed on later models
Well the 2012+ models have a number of updates since it was a midlife refresh. Just bear in mind that the 2012-2015 models have two different types of navigation systems. 6.1" Display Audio units (Two, Three, Four and Five) have a Garmin-looking interface. Four w/ Deluxe Solar Roof and Five w/ Advance Technology have the 7" Premium HDD-based navigation which is Toyota's own interface and design. The 6.1" screen is flash-based and has a different set of operations than the 7" screen with the hard-drive based unit.
