The headlights on my 2007 are glazed over. I tried one of the cleaner kits, and that worked for about three months and then the glazing returned. I'd like to replace the both headlight assemblies. New OEM assemblies from Toyota run about $250 for the pair or I can get an aftermarket set for about $130. I have a vague memory that the beam pattern of aftermarket lights is different and not as good as OEM. So even if I get new aftermarket assemblies, the lighting is not going to be great. Anyone have any experience with this?
3m makes a polishing kit. It is the best one I have used.Otherwise get to sanding. Start with 200 grit, 400, 600, 800, 1200, 1500, 3,000. The best repair is new lenses. Might as well upgrade to some HIDs if you don't already have them. The kit from eBay cost me $80 for 6k lights, ballasts, adapter harness and control board. I wouldn't go any brighter than this unless you want to encourage road rage.. Then use a cream polish with a buffer. Or just get the 3m kitNAPA sells it out here.
I used the Sylvania kit which worked well and then gradually glazed over again. I don't want to worry that my headlights are gradually dimming all the time. I'd rather just pay the money and be done with it.
After you clean the plastic, for a lasting result you would then need to spray the lenses with a UV-resistant clear coat. For example: Krylon 2444 'Fusion for Plastic' Clear Plastic Paint - 12 oz. Aerosol
TYC aftermarket would be my choice. Look, I know, I can sand, buff and clearcoat the lights on the car. I HATE that type of work. I would rather spend twice as much time swinging a wrench (or is that wench ). I first put TYC on my father-in-laws Chrysler about 8 years ago. I was so impressed with fit/finish and price that a couple of years later, put them on my Camry. Lights on both cars still look new and I did not see any change in illumination. I have also used their cabin filters. You can find them on the usual web sites....amazon, ebay, etc. Oh, my regular mechanic was so impressed when he saw them and examined them (after I did the install on the Camry) that he asked what brand they were. Sold the Camry 3 years ago, but the tyc on the chrysler == which now have been on for at least a decade, just needed their first buff this past January (three-minute apiece buff),

TYC -- Genera -- is a respected maker -- they actually are an OEM supplier on a number of different parts to various car companies. Their products are reasonably priced and seem to be top-notch. As they mention, clients include: Toyota, Ford, International.
Go with these! I did & no regrets at. all. Easy! You have to scroll up to see the front headlamp housings because I don't know how to get it to start from the top. Note how the rear lamp housings have the smoked top finish that lines up with the window tint - a nice touch with the aftermarket rear lenses, the originals were not smoked there.
