hey just got a 2012 Prius v and my gas light came on what is the reserve tank. I got 400 mile or 640 km on a tank is that what other 2012 can do (90%hyw 10%city). Also is there any way to turn off the ac when you turn on auto is there any heads up display that are integrated or i should look at
Did you fill the tank yourself? If it looked full on the gauge, it may not really have been full (a car I drive regularly will go 120+km before the gauge moves from full).
400 miles is a long tank for me. I never want the A/C off in Mississippi, but on Auto it does not run unless needed.
400 miles is about average I would say. Yes, press the AC button when in auto and the AC turns off, the auto light should still be lit.
ty all i filled up 40 liter meaning there is a 5 liter reserve minimum 80 km more once the gas light come on ty all
I'd not be concerned with one tank - just fill it to the first click every time, if possible at the same bowser (gas pump), and see your average over 2 or 3 tanks. Have you checked your tyre pressures? I notice that some on PriusChat run a little higher than TOYOTA's recommendation - search for it in the forum search.
My last great tank was 475 miles, right at ten gallons. I could go further, but my typical tank is under 400 miles winter, 425 or so summer. I believe my largest fillup was 10.5 gallons or so, and the light had been on for some 30 miles or more.
I just had my best tank on our v, 496 miles and 10.1 gallons. We have 4650 total miles and our mileage has been climbing every tank since March.
I've been getting around 680km per tank, (90% City Driving) But i typically go fill it as soon as i drop to the last bar on the Fuel Gauge. I seem to remember seeing somewhere that it flashes when it gets really low. But i doubt that's good for the fuel components inside the tank to run it that low.. Or maybe i'm just over cautious.
Running until the last pip is flashing isn't an issue, but it's a good idea to head toward a station pretty soon! 25 miles after it begins to flash is attainable, but don't tempt fate. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
A few days ago I got 500.6 miles, showed 16 left on the tank and pumped 9.98 gal Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Glad to see folks are frequently 'beating' the EPA estimates. Frankly, I hope I can do that on our 2012 v. Still having a hard time 'adjusting' to the decreased MPG versus our 2010 liftback! Also doesn't help that I just put new tires on the car...took a bit of an MPG hit.
My v is on its second set of tires for age reasons, not wear. I didn't notice a big hit on MPG with the changeover but I did use LRR tires.
The dealer can use Toyota TechStream software to access settings that allow you to NOT link the AC on to the AUTO being pressed. I did this and now I don't have to look down and play with the AC button when I want to start with Fan Only at a high(er) temp setting and press AUTO. The Dealership may try to recoup some $$ from the license for TechStream and charge you for this service, but a lot do not. I think of it as a service test. If they don't charge for simple setting changes they pass the test and they can service all my family's Prius.
