Long time reader, first time poster here! I have a 2014 Prius Four with the JBL/Nav upgrade. I am thinking about upgrading to the Pioneer AVIC-8100NEX. I believe I understand the upgrade process, but most of the information I have found relates to the non-JBL versions. I have read Jonas Lippuner's excellent tutorial (I cannot post links, but search for a thread entitled: "Installing aftermarket in-dash GPS unit in a 2015 Prius Two"). In that tutorial, he explains all of the connectors on the non-JBL units. However, JBL units apparently have another connector, which is a 12-pin connector. I have read through the lengthy discussions of installing the Android 4.4 system, which requires a "canbus adapter," such as the KD-Z0002 or the CS-Z0002 see TroyandEddie's discussion (post #6 in thread entitled: "Headunit upgrade with JBL". I think that the part I need is the Axxess TYTO-02 Wiring Interface ($79.99 on Crutchfield). Is that the correct part for my system? Do I need any other items (beyond this part and the parts listed in Jonas Lippuner's post) to make my system work? Thanks in advance!
Not so far. I wanted to hold off to make sure that I was buying all the right parts, but I haven't figured it out yet.
